Cinnamon Cactus has buttery yellow flowers at the ends of the stems in mid spring, which are interesting on close inspection. Its attractive succulent round leaves remain light green in color with distinctive coppery-bronze spots throughout the year.
This is an herbaceous houseplant with a spreading, ground-hugging habit of growth. Its relatively coarse texture stands it apart from other indoor plants with finer foliage. This plant should never be pruned unless absolutely necessary, as it tends not to take pruning well.
When grown indoors, Cinnamon Cactus can be expected to grow to be about 24 inches tall at maturity, with a spread of 3 feet. It grows at a medium rate, and under ideal conditions can be expected to live for approximately 30 years. This houseplant will do well in a location that gets either direct or indirect sunlight, although it will usually require a more brightly-lit environment than what artificial indoor lighting alone can provide.
